to commission a portrait of a pet, whether that be a horse, a dog, a cat, or a bird,
I will endeavor to satisfy your request in every way. Thank you.

Information about private commissions

Private commissions are for personal use.
Prices are listed below. I accept payment before beginning a project.
Please see examples and instructions for reference photos below.Your pet's portrait will be painted on stretched canvas. Size is
currently limited to 12x16 inches.
The finished painting will be protected from fading with a UV-resistant spray,
and then varnished with two coats of satin finish to ensure it lasts for many years.

Guidelines for reference photos

I accept that not all reference photos are perfect. However, here are
a few guidelines to follow when choosing or taking a reference photo.Photos taken at the eye level of the pet are usually the best.
Your pet's face should be in focus.
Think face-on view, three-quarters view, or profile/side view.
Please see the examples below for reference.Lighting should be typically from above and/or the side, never from the back.
A badly lit, grey picture is hard to make interesting in a painting.
Shadows and highlights should be well-defined. However, soft lighting as in
an overcast day is also very appealing.
